Based on input from users of MD3i and client feedback from current Xtensible projects, the following features are now available within the recent MD3i download.

  • Allow Contexts to Import Other Contexts
You can now drag diagrams from other contexts into a diagram in the current context. This will create a diagram reference and allow the referenced diagram to be treated as a part of the current context. This allows more flexibility in the way that contexts can be managed and structured.
  • Allow Assignment of Security Classifications to md3i_has Relationships
Security classifications can now be defined on the Property-side role of the md3i_has relationship. If defined, the role security classification will override the security classification that is defined on the Property element. This allows for more flexibility in the way that security classifications can be assigned. A shared Property element can now have multiple security classifications depending on the containing Entity.
  • Automatically Include Complex Datatype Diagrams When Creating a Context
When using the “Create RB Context Diagrams” or the “Create SB Context Diagrams” features, there’s now an option in the wizard to also create datatype diagrams (enabled by default). If selected, a subpackage will be created under the Context package to contain datatype diagrams. A separate datatype diagram will be created for each dependent datatype and will contain the datatype or entity element along with all related properties. This feature offers more convenience when creating a new context diagram, as the datatypes and their properties can now be explicitly included in the Context.
