Ameren and Xtensible Embark on a Network Model Management System Implementation
We are pleased to announce that Ameren has selected to partner with Xtensible to complete the implementation of their Grid Network Model Management (GNMM) solution. The GNMM solution includes the implementation of a Network Model Management System for sub-transmission and distribution which is based on the CIM model and IEC standards, covering distribution operations, network planning and analysis, load repository and DER.
The overarching objective of the GNMM is to establish the future state strategy and architecture to provide digital capabilities for supporting the asset lifecycle and digital twin concepts, safe planning and operating the evolving grid to improve customer value, the co-worker experience, enable new products and services, and increase reliability and resiliency of the grid, with a key focus on:
- Optimizing the impact of distributed energy resources and enable a cleaner, more diverse generation portfolio driving lower carbon emissions.
- Assimilating and leveraging an exponential increase in meter, device, and sensor data to drive asset utilization, workforce utilization, and secure energy production insights.
- Confidently model, view, and simulate digital representations of the grid (utilizing digital twin principles).
