SUMMARY:DistribuTECH 2024 Utility University - Improving Data Quality with Network Model Management
DESCRIPTION:  \nGreg Robinson\, Phillip Jones\, and Gerald Gray PhD. of Xtensible in conjunction with Tyler Friedel from Ameren will be presenting on Ensuring Data Quality with Network Model Management at the upcoming DistribuTECH 2024 Utility University. This training is based upon real world experience from the current Ameren implementation of their Grid Network Model Management (GNMM) solution. \nBeing able to leverage reliable\, up-to-date\, and end-to-end electrical network models is necessary for utility planners\, engineers\, maintenance workers and operators. These stakeholders have both overlapping and unique uses of network data that vary in scope\, timelines\, and frequencies in support of the asset lifecycle (planning\, design\, construction\, operation & maintenance\, retirement). And frequently\, network related data does not correspond correctly when it is modeled and used differently across many systems such as GIS\, EMS\, ADMS\, network analysis\, engineering design\, asset management\, work management\, outage management. \nThis course will discuss utility requirements for sharing network models and related data\, strategies for meeting those requirements\, provide an overview of industry standards that can reduce the risk and effort in applying these strategies\, and provide guideline for developing a roadmap for implementing these grid network model management solutions in step with business needs. \nLearning objectives and specific knowledge\, skills and/or capabilities that attendees should acquire through this course: \n\nStrategic planning and architecture for the management of critical utility network data across the whole enterprise\nProvide a better approach for utility managers to ensure data consistency and accuracy for the grid network model across all utility business functions and the asset lifecycle value chain.\nArm utility managers with information for improving O&M costs for planning\, design\, operations\, and system protection functions; having experts focus their time on doing their work rather than wrangling data from multiple sources.\nProvide a robust and resilient roadmap for architects for managing and sharing network models and associated data among systems.\n\nBe sure to stop by the Xtensible booth 1302 to learn more!
