smart-grid-525x525Strategy development is about understanding where you are and why. It is also about determining where you want to be and how to get there. Our approach for strategy development, whether it is for enterprise information management or smart grid interoperability, is the same. Driving out business capabilities, we focus on ensuring a common understanding around:

  • Foundational Setting – Why are we here?
  • Current State – Where are we now?
  • Desired State – Where do we need to be?

Once gaining a clear understanding, we can start to set the general direction by:

  • Analyzing strategic options
  • Linking objectives, strategies and resources

Lastly, we have to develop the plan for execution including the schedule, budget, backups and a mean to measure success. For a strategy to be realized, there has to be a well defined architecture: a reference architecture that helps guide the organization through implementation and design. We work with utility companies to help define the reference architecture and implementation of it focusing around people, process and the technology.
